The first pictures of Audi’s next generation A6 executive mid-size saloon have surfaced on the Internet via Autoblog.nl. No details on the all-new Audi A6 sedan have been released yet, but for now I’ve got a full image gallery for you to browse. So watch it from any angle.

Based on the more upscale A7 Sportback ,it’ll come as no surprise to learn that the new A6 looks like a sedan version of the A7, thanks to a less curvaceous roofline and a more mundane rear-end that resembles the smaller A4 sedan. 

 

The similarities are far more evident in the interior, as apart from a few exceptions, such as the door panel detailing, the A6’s cabin appears identical to that of the A7 Sportback.

As mentioned, no mechanical details have surfaced yet, but expect the engine lineup to include the usual suspects like the 213 kW supercharged 3.0T V6 petrol engine and 176 kW 3.0 TDI V6 diesel engine, with a more potent ‘S’ model and possibly an ‘RS’ variant to follow in future.

Prize for European Car of the Year is Given Away

The all-electric Nissan Leaf has just been awarded European Car of the Year for 2011. It’s the first time the award has gone to an electric vehicle this year.

Judging the award were 57 automotive journalists from 23 different European countries. They rated the Nissan Leaf highly giving it 257 points.

Coming in second place was the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with 248 points.

The Opel/Vauxhall Meriva coming in third place with 244 points.

Ford C-Max/Grand C-Max

 Nissan, of course, was thrilled to win the award, which CEO Carlos Ghosn said, “recognizes the pioneering zero-emission Nissan Leaf as competitive to conventional cars in terms of safety, performance, spaciousness and handling.”

Other finalists included, the Ford C-Max/Grand C-Max which was awarded 224 points, the Citroen C3/DS3 – awarded 175 points, the Volvo S60 and V60 – awarded 145 points, and the Dacia Duster which was awarded 132 points.

It’s the 47th year the award ceremony has taken place, with Nissan last picking up the award in 1993 with its Nissan Micra.

Nissan plans to produce 250,000 Leafs per year, and will go on sale in the Japanese and US markets in December joining the European market.

First Images of Has Been Showed in Public 2011 Chrysler 300C

Looking a bit more elegant than previous model, the restyled 2011 Chrysler 300C features: a new grille, LED-infused headlights, more chrome accents, a more steeply raked windscreen, stylish new bodywork, and more prominent wheel arches. Expect the engine line-up to remain, with a few nips and tucks on the fuel economy front to reduce consumption by around 19%. HEMI fans can relax, as the V8, featuring cylinder deactivation, will carry over from the existing model and it should boast increases in both power and fuel economy.

As for the interior, no official images have been released, but it’s said that the cabin will have soft-touch plastics, come in wood trim, and have some additional sound deadening material, as well as feature some new options like heated/cooled seats, two-piece sunroof and a 8.4-inch screen Garmin navigation system.
